"Prisoners of Fate" – a Swiss documentary film by Mehdi Sahebi

Mehdi Sahebi came to Switzerland from Iran in the 1980s at the age of 20. Here he has made a name for himself as a sensitive documentary filmmaker. In a long-term project, he has followed Afghan and Iranian refugees in Switzerland on their difficult and uncertain journey, full of hope and disappointment. His own story, his language skills, and above all, his open ear allowed him an emotional, direct, and surprisingly humorous connection with these people.
